Thursday is the centenary of Ken Iverson: the mathematician whose notation spawned APL, J, k, and q.

Iverson College invites you to celebrate at an online meeting with a distinguished panel of contributors. We shall hear from people who worked with Iverson, and discuss the future prospects of “the notation” in its various forms. Admission free, but by ticket – places are limited.

Before APL was called APL, it was called “Iverson notation”. Ken mused that it should be called simply “the notation”. After all, we don’t say “God’s grass”, just “the grass”.
