I hope one day to see the last reference to “the q gods”. 😇
The expression arose, I think, from humble awe at the simplicity, brevity and efficiency of some q solutions. Much like Jack Nicholson’s Joker marvelled at Batman: Where does he get those wonderful toys? How do those guys see such solutions?
Calling them “gods” honours the skill – but locates it beyond our reach. We are but mortals.
I’m here to say thinking in vectors is not reserved to deities. It is a learnable skill. Like any language, q yields to study and practice. And this is where we shall learn fluent vector. You have come to the right place!
